"Having gone through depression and having dealt with the loss of loved ones because of suicide, I know that therapy is crucial to fighting through your mental health challenges.

What I’ve come to realise on my journey to improving my mental health, is that physical exercise and wellbeing is an important contributing factor managing mental health. Without boxing, soccer and fitness I would not be where I am today. The progress I was able to make in therapy improved significantly when I was able to work on my physical health in addition to my mental health. The coaches, team mates and support network I gained from sporting activities has helped me to make the bad days easier.

I was fortunate enough to have had access to affordable sporting options, but not everyone is in that position. Everyone deserves the opportunity to play sport and be part of a team or club. This sense of community and skill mastery can help put individuals in an environment where you are lifted higher by likeminded individuals.

That is where The Good Chat Foundation wants to make a difference. That is where we want to give back to the community and sponsor children & young adults on their own journey to improving their mental health."
